WESLEY SCHROCK

Wes Schrock is a young songwriter based out of St Paul, MN. He serves as a Worship Pastor at River Valley Church and lives in the city with his wife, Bethany, and their 60lb fluffy poodle. 

Wes grew up in Paducah Kentucky playing soccer and learning acoustic guitar from Herb Chapman (yes, father of Steven Curtis Chapman, who continues to be a inspiration to Wes). After moving to Minnesota to play soccer at Shattuck St. Mary's boarding school at the age of 15, he walked to the closest church to get plugged in. He began serving on the youth worship team at River Valley Church, where he felt the call to ministry.

Years later, Wes still works at River Valley writing songs and leading worship. He and Bethany have been married for three years full of mountain tops and valleys. They traveled to the Middle East in January of 2017 to lead worship and provide photos for missionaries in the filed. Right after their trip Bethany was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She had brain surgery to remove the tumor later that year and continues to battle an undiagnosed illness. Through it all they continue to pray for healing over Bethany’s body knowing that we serve a faithful and good God even when life tries to tell us differently. Although young, these life experiences have influenced Wes’s songwriting and who he knows God to be.
